What are these berries growing in my tree?

i have a tree in my yard producing berries, at first i thought raspberries but they're black and in a tree. i came to the conclusion that they are most likely mulberries and they look like that and so do the leaves, however they are blooming in june/july not around April what are they and are they safe to eat?
