Why would a Christian God create something like Adam and Eve and then set them up for failure?

He gave them free will and let them choose, much like a parent must let their kids make their own choices and mistakes in growing up. When my child makes an error in judgment I do not stop loving them, i offer a solution and a helping hand. They do not have to accept my help. They can reject me. But I love them and so let them find their own way even though I have the means to make their lives so much easier. If you had children you might understand.
